Orlando City Soccer travels to Kansas to take on a reeling Sporting Kansas City

Sporting Kansas City has been a big disappointment so far this 2016 MLS season. Getting into the playoffs to challenge for the Major League Soccer Cup this year is more difficult than it should be for SKC. Sporting Kansas City right now is three points back with more matches played than any other team in the conference. This makes this upcoming game at home against Orlando City very important. Sporting is a strong team at home and is favored in this fixture. The matchup between Sporting Kansas City and Orlando City will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. ET at Children’s Mercy Park. The fixture will be broadcast on ESPN.

Sporting Kansas City is not in good form right now. Goals have been far and few between and maybe forward Dom Dwyer will be able to score a goal after a slow last month. Sporting recently has a 1-0 loss to Colorado and a 2-0 loss at Houston, and it has gone seven matches in a row without a victory. This year SKC has just two wins out of five matches at home and that is a big concern.  Sporting only has one injury concern at the moment. Defender Kevin Ellis is out for this match with groin injury.

Orlando City started the year in good form, but are starting to loose that form as of late. Orlando City had draws against New York and New England in consecutive weeks.  Before that they lost 3-2 on the road to the Red Bulls. The real issue for the Lions right now comes from suspensions and not from injuries. The Lions midfielder Cristian Higuita has been suspended in this match for a red card he picked up against the Red Bulls. The Lions coach Adrian Heath has been suspended this week as well for complaining to an official during the draw at home against the Red Bulls. Best Sports Site Blog believes the Lions have the edge to win this match. Midfielder Kevin Molino is in good form right now with goals in consecutive matches.
